Following conference on Twitter detracted from the conference experience. I spent most of my time during the session getting annoyed with people's comments; mostly members of the LDS church who said things which make LDS members appear fanatic. I appreciate that the exercise broadened my horizons concerning the real time impact conference has through the globe, however I'm not sure it's worth the frustration to do it again.
I think it's too bad that you had such a negative experience. I found the task rather enlightening as I saw the effect (both positive and negative) that conference was having world wide, in real time. I do agree that fanatic LDS people can be both obnoxious and potentially harmful to investigators, yet for me, the experience was more good than bad.
